The flower on the left is past its prime but not fully wilted, while the bud on the right is still beginning to grow. I became really interested in how differently I approached painting each of them.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe bud is painted in a much more refined way with brighter color and no underpainting showing through, while the older flower has areas that feel more unstable and unresolved. Some parts remain refined while others start to break apart.
