When I study flowers over time, I am always interested in how aging rarely happens all at once. Certain parts change before others. Some areas soften, droop, or lose their structure while the rest remains familiar. It reminds me of how we experience aging as people. The first signs are often subtle, but once they appear, they change how we understand everything that follows. This painting focuses on that moment between seeming unchanged and becoming something new.
