One of the things I love most about tulips is how differently they wilt. They twist, curl, and bend in completely unique ways, almost as if each flower is responding to time differently.
This painting grew out of thinking about how similar that is to people. No two lives unfold in exactly the same way, and no two people experience aging the same way. Yet eventually we all arrive at the same place. These tulips may share an ending, but each one carries its own story in the way it got there.
